Charming Inns Owners and Operators are eager to institute programs that save water, save energy and reduce solid waste by taking “green” steps at the local level.

All of the Charming Inns properties employ the following green practices:

• Recycle paper, bottles, cans and plastic
• Towels and linen changed upon request
• Share environmental initiatives at meetings – cleaning products, power savings, etc

These Charming Inns have acquired a designation for its environmental practices.   Listed below are the top five initiatives taken at the property level.

• Hard floor surfaces in many rooms - replacing carpet

• Recycled and reclaimed materials were largely used in 2004 renovation
• All guest rooms are lit by compact fluorescent light bulbs, hallways LED
• Certified organic bath amenities in paper bottles with 59% reduction in packaging material and portion of net sales go to honey bee pollination research
• Oceanwise sustainable seafood on Bistro menu
• Bullfrog Power source  - 100% green electricity

• Power is generated off grid and storied in batteries for reserved use
• Reuse of materials generated by composting worm farm
• Replaced all lights with energy saving bulbs
